The 12th International Conference of

ISSEI

In cooperation

With

International Society for the Study of European Ideas

Section II:  Politics, Economics, Law

Workshop:     Dreaming Economists—Economic Dreams

Chair:   Gyorgy Kerekgyarto

It is an essential difference between scientific analyses in natural sciences and social sciences that in the last-mentioned the subject is immanent part of the research’s object. As a consequence, the whole process of research is extremely influenced by subjective factors. The creation of new institutions based on scientific analysis, decisions on policy steps or the directions to be followed will reflect subjective elements. Therefore decisions made in the past or in the present have continuously to be faced with the reality and—if necessary—they have to be re-evaluated.

In the section planned for the 12th International Conference of the ISSEI issues should be raised as

-          Retrospectives of the Central and East-European transition processes

-          The Role of subjective factors in economic and social policy

-          Actions in the real and virtual world

-          Psychology and the possibility to influence economic actors’ behavior

-          The economic power of religions

-          Scientific truth versus mass expectations

-          History of subjective economics

-          Planning: conscious decisions or evolution of ideas?

Specialists from different fields will be kindly invited to take part in discussing these important problems of high multidisciplinarity
